A picture of working outside and a picture of working inside. By now the flowers have completely lost all life and colour and so has the field outside. The sky is grey. It's getting colder and I'm getting grumpy. Hiding with blankets, tea, books and temporary records. China can regulate the weather. What if we just make 12 zones in this world and there is a different climate in every zone every month. Then we let the people who want to have all the climates, live on the upper part of the world in whatever zone they want and then we can make the underside of the world into a nomadic place where everyone will move to another zone every month, so that they can keep in their favourite climate. Kind of like how some people celebrate newyears a lot of times because they fly from time-zone to time-zone.
I would avoid the grey climate and maybe visit it once every other year for a small week of depression after too much nice weather.

One year ago, on this 7th of september, I took off for 6-month adventure in Hamburg. I can still feel the weight of the backback on my shoulders and the excited tingles in my stomach, and in fact pretty much every detail of that day, like a movie in my mind. But there seems to be a lifetime of experiences in this last year, which makes it seem like it lasted a decade.
I don't regret my decision to finish my school here, and I'm excited to start classes again next week. I had to get out of it all to appreciate it again and see things in a different light. But that doesn't take away that I miss the amazing beauty and 'ease' of the city, the life, the people and the school there. It's good to know places like that exist.
In a few months I can move again, so I'm excited for whatever the next 12 months will bring. Untill then I'll be so busy learning a lot and spending time with loved ones, that I probably won't even be able to notice the immer grey skies above this silly little town. Ignorance is bliss, sometimes. Ha!

Finding a dead bird always makes my day. They're always paired with loving feelings.

Easter brunch made by mum and dad. The pancakes with the white stuff were so so good. The recipe was in the Allerhande. For the cream (4 people) you'll need:

1 vanilla stick
200 ml crème fraiche
3 tbs liquid honey + something extra for over the pancakes
4 apricots on (apple)juice

cut the vanillastick open in the length. scrape the marrow out with a knife. stir the crème fraiche in a bowl untill it's smooth and add the marrow and the honey. Put it on a plate and add the apricot and maybe some extra honey.

Very bad at translating dutch things into proper english. But if you'd ever have time to make this, try it, it's good.

First roll of Francis developed, most of them are not really good because I just took pictures for the sake of finishing the roll because I was too curious of what would come out. And I had a lightleak a bit.. oops.
Eitherway. mum and dad. They laugh as well every now and then, don't worry.

One of the things I did for midterm. The idea is that the handle will work as a moodring and then the colour of the light will change according to your mood, something I illustrated very professionally.
It's definitely not my best work, but it killed my fingers and my heart, so I might as well show you.

My cousin had her swimming exam today and she was amazing of course. She a true watermonster as you may see.
Other than that, I had 'holidays' this week: too much work, too much sleep, too much food and now I'm left with not nearly enough time to finish everything. So I just do nothing.

A few pictures from the dead mice collection. Also animals that could possibly be mice, like kangaroos or rabbits.

Some things that haven't really left my side the past two weeks or so. The camera is called Nico (named after Nico from the Velvet Underground) and I got it from my dad: "I thought you needed a better camera, so I got you this, because you worked so hard". the lightmeter is amazing and the bag is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. Sent to me by Martin from Sova, the illustration is by Julea Dichte (who is amazing, really.)

This pictures is taken with little Gustav. He works perfect. I am now testing Nico. Need to have 36 pictures by friday so I can still see them before we go.

This is my new friend Gustavus (or as a nickname: Gustav). He has travelled all over the world with a lovely lady and now he's taking a little vacation with me. Relaxing and getting to know Eindhoven and Amsterdam. Hopefully he'll join me on many adventures to come and maybe we can go to Sweden and Berlin and Russia together.
I have to get film tomorrow but in the meantime I'm just enjoying the amazing feeling it gives to release the shutter. And cuddling him and talking to him. eeeep.

First assignment after the holidays was to make a piece of clothing out of a normal white t-shirt, inspired by a fashion editorial. I made this thing, which is made for hiding. I did it in less than a day, so it's not very good, but I like how the photos came out.

In London we drank a lot of coffee, sat around in parcs and watched people. I got educated on British culture (Whitnail and I, crumpets, tea with milk, etc) by my two favourite british girls, and of course we did some shopping.
I bought a lace buttonup, a floral 3-pound dress, fluffy animals that we made into earrings and lobster will turn into a ring, a moodring and Oh Comely. Oh Comely is perfect and full of cute images / illustrations and stories.

My lace button-up has the most beautiful collar in the world, so I made tons of photobooth pictures.

I enjoy making little books. This was a storyboard for drawing class. It's a movie about people on flying donuts and a girl who falls into a tea-sea.

To All My Friends played a gig in Bremen and I wasn't there because I was here, working on my shapes. But they stayed over at Martin's place who was so kind to skypecall me during their soundcheck and they are amazing. <3
I also can't draw faces. I have a collection of faceless people in my notebook now.
