(the picture is my ghost in my hamburger school. Taken partly by my dad, partly by my mum; combined by my dad.)

The last post of 2012. Overall it was a very good year for me (a struggly start maybe, but it's all forgotten).

I think 2012 has been mostly about falling in love for me. With people, with places, with thoughts, with sounds, voices, words, letters, work, feelings, dreams.. Little love-affairs. I've been trying to enjoy them for as long as they would last; a few hours, a few weeks, sometimes longer. With falling in love always comes a little heart-ache and sadness, but that's okay. I've felt at home and completely happy so much more often than I ever did before. (maybe not when I was a baby, but kids are so much easier to please).

I can't be bothered to make lists of things I did, places I saw, people I met, movies I watched, etc. Although I've tried. But I met so many many amazing people this year and I'm very happy about that and I don't really know how many of those will read this, but if you do; I'm sending you a lot of love. And it's coming from my toes. That means I mean it. ♥
I hope you who read this, will have a wonderful new year with a lot of love in anykind of way.

Perfect proof that sex sells. I had my midterm presentation set up in the hallway (mistake) and my 'feminine phallus' was the one thing everybody got drawn to immediately, even though I made a bunch of other things as well.
This is not all we do in school, it was just a one-week assignment and the knitting is nice and relaxing. and it's such a soft and fluffy thing. People keep saying I should sell them, which is a bit weird, but you know, I wouldn't mind the money so if you are interested in buying one, just let me know hehe.

Two weeks ago I made two spheres as part of an ongoing object-relay-race assignment. They took pretty much an entire weekend, but I am quite pleased with the result. The orange-ish one is inspired by this image by Martin Parr (one of my favourite photos in the world), the other is some kind of floading-scene with strange fantasy buildings. The people look like a 5 year old made them, but it's very difficult to shape figures of less than 1cm high, with no tools besides my hands hihi.

Meet my new camera! It's a Nikon FM and it's the most amazing camera in the world. It came with a 50 mm f/1.8 lens (with very pretty colours) and my dad gave me two of his old lenses, from when he also had a FM. I think I'm naming him Francis Malkovich, or Malevich... I'm not sure yet. Gustavus died, so this was necessary.
I've been ignoring school the last week, which is good. And I had a wonderful morning today.

Once, last year, we had to make a comic. Even though It took me way too much time, I was quite happy with the result. Shortly after, in a village in Australia called Nihill we found a beautiful deserted trainstation where trains would only come every other day (and only 1 every day), and it looked so much like I'd imagine the station of my drawing. My father took a picture of me.

One of the things I did for midterm. The idea is that the handle will work as a moodring and then the colour of the light will change according to your mood, something I illustrated very professionally.
It's definitely not my best work, but it killed my fingers and my heart, so I might as well show you.

The twelve apostles were amazingly beautiful even though I was slightly disappointed that they were no real apostles but just stones...

My dad takes a lot better digitals than I do and sometimes he likes to take pictures of us as well.
For the second picture, my mum and I had to sit absolutely still for 2,5 minutes which was terrible because everything started to itch.
(Mainly just posting this because I feel so incredibly awesome with this jacket+hat combination, like I'm the queen of the world)

Yesterday I thought it was smart to run up and down Perth's Jacob's Ladder (241 steps or so) two times even though my usual workout limits to 7 minutes cycling to school. You can imagine my legs hurt a bit, 30 hours of airplane travelling didn't exactly help, so I devoted today to lying in my bed.
Taking the train through dutch landscape made me miss Australia already. It's ugly here.

Healesville seemed empty but they had a lovely brewery where we drank yummy cider / beer / coffee and where the people were nice and gave me a pretty map to make a book from. And if I would ever consider washing my clothes somewhere other than home, it would be in Australia.

So much talking. I might as well say I have 5 rolls of films to develop (1 for every week. I'm quite proud) so you can expect tons of pictures of my brother and the sea.

We've spent a lot of time on several beaches and now we're in Perth in a terribly big hotel room for our last night in Australia, then we'll have a 5 hour, 12 hour and 1 hour planeride to go until we're back home. Exciting!

On another note, I've been killing all my favourite totebags this holiday, I had to stitch them all a few times, but it's alright, they're getting used well and they like carrying my camera, sunscreen and shoes.

We named him Charles, he was quite sad.
There are so many amazing animals here and we already saw a lot of kangaroos. Today we lost all our food because they took it when we crossed the border to South Australia, my dad told the guy that if we'd do such things in Europe, there would definitely be war. He just said: "That's why you have mad-cow disease."
We have come to a point where we just see endless endless nothingness and it can be quite depressing at times. I don't think I would like to live here. 200 km between villages and they both consist of 10 people. in between there really is nothing at all, just one road.
It's very warm though! So this is good.
Okay. Bye! xx

Summer - package exchange with Lotta. She gave me wonderfulness (second picture) that made me extremely happy. One (three) of the things were these beautiful camel (kameel) maps (shitty webcam picture doesnt do them justice) that I've been in love with since I first saw them in our art supplies store but never bought them. tack tack tack <3.

I'm having a cold and am hiding in the hallway of this beautiful house because we have internet here and I'm getting tired of being with my parents and brother 24/7. After tomorrow we'll be touring through the desert for 3 weeks. whoop.

"Why do I keep hearing this sniffing sound?"
"It's Bobby."
"Oh she's in the hallway?"
"Yes."

It's like Sweden here. In Melbourne it's full of cool people like in Sweden and I already said it smelled like Sweden there. Then we found these cute little Swedish-looking houses and today we had a 'family-party' and there was yummy yummy Swedish cider and I drank pretty much all of it.

Hong Kong is quite an insane place, but I like it here. the buildings are incredibly high and they have escalators in the city. It's hot and for the first time in years I walked around barelegged. Now we're in a tiny hotel room and I'm listening to Sufjan Stevens and reading about art. Tomorrow we're going to Australia. I hope they have movies on the plane as well. That was exciting. meow. (I saw a cat today. It was the only animal I saw, besides a dead babybird on the street).

(pictures of my evaluation; drawings, books, architecture models of my house, magazine, architecture drawings, poster for cigarperformance with drawing by Lotta)

I passed my final evaluation, which also means I passed the first year of the Design Academy.
I can't believe this year is over. It feels like time has gone by so fast, although when I think back of the person I was when I started this and look at the person I am now, they feel so different.
This has definitely been the most intense year of my life (so far). I've never worked so hard, stayed up working for so many nights in a row, gone through such deep lows but also such high highs.
But it's been amazing. I got to know so many inspiring and wonderful people. And I've learned so much. I got accepted here with some 'graphic work', some photos and a few drawings. And now I've made chairs out of wood and metal, I've made ceramic vases, I did performances, learned about myself, painted huge paintings, drew a lot, made weird shapes, wrote articles, drew architecture plans etc.
But for now: Summer! I'm leaving for Australia this sunday which is amazing, but I will miss everyone here, after seeing them pretty much every day since this year started. I woke up to a text: "Bobby, what am I going to do without you? I already miss you." so today we did some Academy rehab, by hanging around school, drinking iced coffee. I do have quite a few wonderful non-academy adventures planned this week though, don't worry ;)

This is my new friend Gustavus (or as a nickname: Gustav). He has travelled all over the world with a lovely lady and now he's taking a little vacation with me. Relaxing and getting to know Eindhoven and Amsterdam. Hopefully he'll join me on many adventures to come and maybe we can go to Sweden and Berlin and Russia together.
I have to get film tomorrow but in the meantime I'm just enjoying the amazing feeling it gives to release the shutter. And cuddling him and talking to him. eeeep.

Lotta came over, we listened to records and she made a wonderful package while I cleaned my room.

Today I saw
. An old man staring at a poster of a woman in bikini
. A pigeon eating someone's puke
. Two men reading books on benches next to the water
. Two couples kissing on benches next to the water
. A guy on a bike staring at the water
. A guy painting all his belongings yellow
