I have been living like a little nomadic girl for the past two weeks. Traveling all over the Netherlands and a trip to English countryside. I enjoy seeing all these wonderful people and places, but now I'm as tired as can be and am also very much looking forward to sleep in my own bed again and have quietness around me. One can only travel for so long. Like people with travelsickness need a stable point to focus on in order not to get sick, I need a stableness to go back to every now and then in order not to get nervous and itchy.

Ungeduld von Goethe

Immer wieder in die Weite,
über Länder an das Meer,
Phantasien, in der Breite
schwebt am Ufer hin und her!

Neu ist immer die Erfahrung:
Immer ist dem Herzen bang,
Schmerzen sind der Jugend Nahrung,
Tränen seliger Lobgesang.

School is over, we passed, had pizza, then I slept for a day and had many dreams about pizza.
pizza pizza pizza.
I had this pizza in Little Creatures in Melbourne, which is the kind of place you'd definitely hang out a lot if you're awesome and hip and in your 30s with two little kids and lots of other awesome and hip friends. Then you drink some fancy beers and eat rosemary pizzas and read some old biology books with pretty drawings of plants.

Finally some sun!
This is my brother. This photo makes me laugh because it's so silly. You don't know how much I'd love to be back here again. :(

this is a real starfish. happy 2012 to all of you :).
And then you say something about the past year. I guess it has not been the best year, but there were some  wonderful moments of course. I visited an insane amount of beautiful places, of which I'm very grateful. And I had a lot of wonderful adventures with friends and my hair has grown. And I saw a real starfish.
I spend last night in Amsterdam and I didn't get killed by a bomb, so that's also very positive.
Next year I'm visiting London and Frome which I'm super excited about, and hopefully I'll also go to Sweden and Germany and some other place, something I haven't seen before, like Iceland or Russia or some small town here in the Netherlands where I'll meet fascinating people. We will see. I have some other big plans for the new year, which I won't tell because then they can go wrong, but maybe, hopefully they will come true.
I wish you all the very very best for the next 364 days. With love. From my toes.

Once, last year, we had to make a comic. Even though It took me way too much time, I was quite happy with the result. Shortly after, in a village in Australia called Nihill we found a beautiful deserted trainstation where trains would only come every other day (and only 1 every day), and it looked so much like I'd imagine the station of my drawing. My father took a picture of me.

I talked about the sea before, but this little beach, and this part of the ocean was by far my favourite of all the seas and beaches I've seen in my life. I will tell you how we met.
It was a bit of a windy day, not raining like the days before, but not quite calm yet, we had arrived late at the campside that day, so the sun would set soon. We had to walk fast. There was a small 'inland sea' that we had to walk by to get to the end. We passed empty beach houses and abondened fisher boats. As we got closer, the sea, even in between land, became wilder, it was making strange turns and twists as if a large animal was hiding under it. A few men were fishing, their wives sat behind them, eating sandwiches and yelling at the kids who were running around. At the end of the beach was a small stairs to the rocks. When we jumped we could just reach it, the sea was coming closer, soon you wouldn't be able to use the stairs at all.
There was a lookout, but also a small beach, not much bigger than an average living room. The rocks were shaped as if they were made for us, viewers. I settled down between them, let them protect me from the strong wind. And I just watched. Again and again waves came rolling to the shore, surrounded by watersmoke, just to crash down and flood the beach up to a few steps away from my hiding place. Seven small waves and one big one. During the small waves, little crabs came out of the sand to watch the sea as well.
I somehow wanted to capture the moment forever and took many pictures, but after a while I realized that I would just remember it anyway so I stopped and just enjoyed.

As of today I'm starting a project for myself, valuable nothing. The art of doing nothing and not feeling guilty about it, treating it as if it is the most important thing you can ever do.

Like many of the places we visited in Australia, this was also just a one-night stay. So the next morning I went back to enjoy it one final time, thinking I could stay there forever, and just thinking about it makes me completely happy again.

My cousin had her swimming exam today and she was amazing of course. She a true watermonster as you may see.
Other than that, I had 'holidays' this week: too much work, too much sleep, too much food and now I'm left with not nearly enough time to finish everything. So I just do nothing.

When I heard about pink lake I imagined something magical with unicorns, or at least some butterflies and flowers and icecream. However, in reality it was just very smelly and there were flies trying to get into our mouths and noses.

But still.. A pink lake!

There are birds in the sky. The people in Australia were so nice to point this out for us.

Around this time tomorrow I'll be on Swedish ground. I'll be spending a few days in Stockholm. Even just looking at the map and saying all these swedish names made me excited. I can't wait to actually be there.

I'm finally really properly True Blue. Almost as blue as the ocean. (This is my favourite bit of ocean of all time, I'll tell you more about it another time). I'm so happy!

The woman in the store looked funny at us when my brother and I both bought 20 temporary tattoo gums. But don't blame us, what's better than opening something, excited to see what's inside and you find out it's blue cat (well, it could be a cat)! This combined with the amazing 5 minute-lasting chewing gum. Great.

Adelaide, Australia.
I had walked through an almost empty city on my own for hours when I saw a small black cat leading into an alleyway, and in between high, fancy glass building, I found this small and messy place, next to a building that only had his outer walls left. I sat down in the sun and pretended to be a tuxedo cat, sadly without a drink or organic soup.

I am completely drained from sitting in church all day and walking around an empty and depressing town on this sunny sunday. I wonder how other people do this every sunday, because I just found this very scary and sad. And everything and everyone made me feel like I was worth nothing and basically this is what has happened all week when I talk to these people. I don't like it one bit.
They keep saying: "What are you doing here? What is your purpose? You are living a useless life. You will go to hell." I don't get it. So this afternoon I just told the man next to me that I believe in God very much so and I sang the songs and put money in the bags and nodded in agreement when they talked about those terrible non-believers.

They also had rocks that looked like Gustav Klimt paintings, but they are not on film, just in my head.
