I'm in need of adventures. Holidays are still a few weeks away, so I try to still my wander-hunger by watching many travel/science-documentaries, digging up pictures of almost-forgotten trips, searching for tickets I can't afford, and baking bread.
Baking bread is like an adventure on its own. Mixing and kneading until your hands hurt, waiting and watching as the dough rises (a magical thing if you ask me), shaping the bread and cutting the top slightly, watching it slowly split open as if it were alive, whispering sorry under your breath, putting it in the oven, and waiting again. The smell of baked bread starts to take over the smell of yeast. Knocking to see if nobody is home and then, unable to wait for it to cool down, taking a bite of a fresh warm slice of homemade bread. Lekker!

The best thing about Amsterdam is that every cafe has its own housecat. You know how some people always play with their phones while they wait for somebody to finish their peeing, or wait for them to show up or to stop calling with their mum or something.. Well I dont have a smartphone, but I do have a big love for cats, and so in those situations in Amsterdam cafes, I can never really be bored.
The best thing about my room is that I can see a very big part of the sky and that this part of the sky fills itself with balloons on summer nights. They get me very excited.
The best thing about this weather is that you can wear woolen socks and sweaters, but also floaty pants and cheap shoes and no need for a coat.
The best thing about today is that in 2 days I'll have holidays and they will be filled with all the best things in life, I think.

(the worst thing about this scanner is that it gives this awful stripe.. and the worst thing about me is that I'm too lazy and impatient to scan them all in again on another scanner..)

I have a very lovely and talented friend who goes by the name of Lukas / Lukat. He wrote and illustrated a real actual graphic novel and is very famous now because it is real good. I bought it in my favourite bookstore and finished it later that night, in the light of googletranslate, hidden under covers.
I never quite liked comics as a kid. I only read them on holidays when I had already finished all my own librarybooks and had to read the comics my brother had picked out (some sort of compromise of my mum, who tried to get him to read). But recently I have discovered the joys of graphic novels. It is like watching a movie in your hands. I read them often in the library of Amsterdam. If you know of any good ones, you should let me know.
I was a very lucky girl because my copy is signed with a cat. Maybe you are not so lucky, but you could still get the book and then you are also a bit lucky.

This morning another quick visit to my new favourite museum in Hamburg. I can never get enough of some dead mice. Especially when they look so cute you want to cuddle them or when they are so stiff they look like lollypops. It may be a bit creepy and not very appropriate to say this, but they almost look kind of delicious.
Besides the mice there are many more amazing things, like the mid-jump-cat, the kiwis, the funny sassylooking thing, the fetuses in jars, the colourful butterflies, the orangutan who drowned herself 5 years a go and is now forever flirtatiously looking at the other orangutan, who is blowing kisses at the lazy jaguar, or the gigantic bluewhale jaw-bone.. I could probably go there everyweek and never ever be bored.

I miss hamburg. Watching millions of Bored to Death episodes. Germans are so weird. Who would put a giant lion in his garden? It freaks people, like me, out in the middle of the night.
Ah and merry christmas. I hope it's a good one for you :)

This week was filled with stacks of books, "unheimliche" ghoststories, discussions on art and life, dimly-lit smokefilled rooms, (bedroom)dancing, goldenrimmed-porcelain-cups filled with wine, the last golden leaves, German puzzles, cats, magic moments and beautiful people.
Next week I'll be 21, which means I will be officially a grown-up. But as long as my days still feel like they come from fairytales and short stories in books with yellow pages, I won't feel too old.

Some drawings I did of Salmer fra kjøkkenet, myself and myself as a cat. I'm always a bit too lazy / scared to finish a drawing completely.

I'm learning German, I'll be so great if I ever get into a traffic jam or get my purse stolen by a dicke Junge.. :D I hope it will happen tomorrow if I'm in Germany, that'll be great. I'll be like: Bremsen! Schau, was für ein langer Stau! Ach nein dicke Junge, nicht stehlen! Günther! Hilfe!"

Souvenirs of latenight magazine-making and happy colourful memories.
I like collecting little cards and receipts and candywrapping and then let them get lost in my stuff, so I will randomly discover them again from time to time and smile and be happy a bit.

I laughed because there were so many pictures of me in boxes, dad said I am most likely a cat. And that that box wasn't just standing there, I had placed it there because I thought it would be a nice place to sit in a box and eat an apple.. Well..

(I'll promise after this one I'll continue posting normal photos again!)
