Wednesday we had a little trip to Rotterdam to visit a museum for school (Boijmans van Beuningen). First there was quite a boring lecture and then we got to see the museum and then we had to go to an exhibition from Atelier van Lieshout, which was held in a submarine wharf.

Sarah and I spend quite a few hours in the museum first. They had lots of amazing stuff going on. Especially Olafur Eliasson was amazing. I love him. Maybe more about him later, otherwise just google him and be amazed by his geniusness.

Then we went to the ferry that took us to the wharf (so cool). Well the space was beautiful. A very inspiring place and I can understand why you would like to get an exhibition there. But this thing that Van Lieshout created. I don't know.. I just don't agree with it at all.

Basically he says he gave a 'solution' for the future, when there will be too many people for the amount of stuff we have. He took the 'cradle to cradle' idea and gave it his own twist. A twist that sounds a lot like concentrationcamp to me.

So what he showed us, was ways to use humans for everything we do. There were 'slaves' who lived from alcohol and animal food and they were put in big beds and they connected them to pipes that sucked out their feces. There were machines that sort of sucked in the slaves and made them into 'something'. There was some kind of slaughterhouse where all these dramatically opened people hang around. And there was just a bunch of random stuff that didn't make sense.

And it's just.. There was no real idea behind it. It was just 'to shock'. And then you call it art. And it wasn't even well made. It was actually very poorly made. Like he'd just thought: "oh yeah dead people. that could be fun. Quick, let's make thousand of them."

It just made me feel sick and angry.

There were some good things though. He made these little 'appartments' inside a big woman's body, or a womb or a spermcell (because when you're a baby, and still inside the womb/mother/spermcell, you feel most save and it would be nice if you could have that everyday). And those were wellmade as well. It's just that the whole holocaustvibes from the rest made me sick.

So that's a lot of ranting. You probably don't read this. I will show you pictures of some of the 'artwork' and of the building.

Talking about cats, I booked a ticket to Malmö to visit Martin, who you may know from the package that he send me and that I blogged about. I'm awfully excited. I'll go there october 28th. And before that I've got some other nice things planned: Dinner in the dark, Antwerp, My dad's birthday (apparently we're celebrating it at the same day he's got the opening of an exposition of his phots. I didn't know that, but cool), Dutch Design week, and school of course! I love school.

There are tons of lovely things I wanted to post about, but then I suddenly had to get home and now I'll just show you some pictures of my cat because she's adorable. Her name is Myjou, she's old, fat and way too scared of everything, but definitely the sweetest cat on earth. She likes bread, lollipops, chicken and my fingers. She also likes cuddling with me, which I sadly can't do to often because I have become allergic to cats somehow. I hope this, like many of my allergies, will pass after a while.

Hello,

The pictures from my introcamp are online so I'm going to show you some that I liked and that I think capture the week really well.

This above picture is taken in the Karaoke Caravan, which is the best thing on earth. I think I've spend at least two hours there because it was so much fun.

This was during the games day and we were playing We Will Rock You and I had to be the singer because I sort of knew the lyrics. And still people are talking to me about it haha.

This is when we had a movienight on the field. It was so lovely.

Here you can see Luka doing magic tricks with Sarah (Luka is from Italy and Sarah from England, they're both so nice. Sarah and I had the strangest conversations.)

In the above three pictures, you can see the Club Kids in action during: Conversation, Warm-up and Socks Game.

The dinner was so good! SO GOOD. Best food I ate in my life probably.

Those last few pictures were from the night where we all dressed up. It was such a good party.

School has started. It's really nice, we have to do a lot already, but I like it. We start with 'Lab', which is one of the busiest quarters and the most technical. We saw all the mechanical working spaces and we're going to make airplanes and chairs and technical drawings.

This weekend I'm going back to Amsterdam two times. I'm excited because I love Amsterdam and I miss it when I'm not there.

Yeah I don't really know what this is about either, but I kinda wanted to do something with the Kate Nash Birds lyrics and I am trying to get back into the rhythm of making things.

Introductioncamp was pretty amazing. I'm really tired but it's okay because we've done a lot of lovely things, had some great parties and I met tons of wonderful and inspiring people. As soon as the pictures are online, I'll probably post some of them here.

It doesn't matter what you look like! I mean if you have a hunchback, just throw a little glitter on it honey, and go dancing!

This is pretty much the letter I got for my introductionweek on my new school.

I'll have to make a New York Club Kid outfit. I watched Party Monster (which I love love love, watch it if you haven't already) and screencapped lots of outfits for inspiration.

The outfit I'm going to make will be YSL inspired. There's going to be green, blue, white, lots of glitter and big birds over my body.

Yesterday I went shopping to get my fabric and some clothes. This was fun. I visited Victor's store (Bij Ons Vintage, if you're in Amsterdam you should definitely go there, it's full of lovely things) and he had these amazing amazing boots:

haha I love them so much. And I tried on lots more ugly stuff and ended up buying the boots, a bathing suit and some earrings and then in another store I bought some bright blue jeans shorts.

Now I'm trying really hard to get this sewing thing right, it's not so easy as it may seem.

I'm really excited. I got the email kinda late, so I have to do this all quick quick quick, but hopefully it's going to look FABULOUS!

Hello,

Paris was most wonderful. It's such a relaxed and lovely city. I can add it to my list of favourite cities.

I made pictures, but I still need to put them on the computer and blahblahblah. I'm trying to pack now, so I'm surrounded by boxes, stuff with no destination and clothes.

I didn't buy very much in Paris: highwasted jeans shorts (5 euro), party dress (10 euro), leather bag (10 euro), tights with a ribbon on it (7 euro). so cheap :D. Erhm. I made some crappy webcam pictures of the shorts and the bag.

Right, I'll finish packing now.

Hello lovelies,

This is my 50th post, so yay. Little celebration. More good news: I found myself a room in Eindhoven. It's not the most ideal room, but it's rather cheapish and I have some nice flatmates (There is this one boy who studies architecture!) and I have a place to sleep. So all is good.

Then, France, I made quite a lot of pictures, so I'm going to show you a few. Basically we just spend our days eating, reading and sleeping and then the last day we visited paris. I really enjoyed it. My mum is taking me for a three day shopping trip to Paris this wednesday! Because we only got to see the tourist points and my dad and little brother hate shopping and it was raining.

Because of the lowlight and my Nikon dying right as we entered the Louvre, these above images (4) turned out a bit shit, I am sorry.

The Eiffel tower was pretty impressive and it was extremely busy and they had cool army guys hanging around.

This is actually a personal favourite.

These Prada dolls were so amazing. The whole building looked amazing. It was a bit of a shame that we were there after closing time, so we couldn't really get inside.
