Eindhoven is such a boring nothingtown. I am happy whenever I can go somewhere that is either busier or less busy or more beautiful or a million times uglier. Eindhoven is too average to be exciting.

Pictures of my previous evaluations, where we thought of a 'genderless' future, wrote tons of essays and made weird collages.
This time it was much more a pain in the ass, but I passed, got a recommandation for atelier 3 (which is nice!) and got all my sleep back (slept 26 hour in the past two days) and I'll be going to England on Sunday, so all is good.

And if you're expecting a baby and want it to be as cool as this kid, I will be happy to make you an 'it's a baby' garland. Maybe it will help. The colours will be 'pastel' and 'lilac' because they're the ~*colours of the future*~ and I know because my teacher said so and she is a trendforecaster and lives 14 years from now.

"He told us we could walk to the end of the world before it got dark. Left and then straight on, pass the first dike and then to the second. It was a long, straight road, at first still some houses, but after the first dike there was nothing on both sides of the path, just here and there a lonely scarecrow made out of plastic bags. It was a stormy day and at times we got almost blown off the muddy path. The cold wind cut on our faces, making our cheeks and ears bright red. Our noses were dripping, our toes and fingers numb. We didn't talk much, but the snot dripped from our noses and got taken away by the wind. We didn't care. On the endless fields next to us were leftover potatoes and we could see ourselves walking here after a long day, picking up potatoes to bring back to our family.
When we finally got to the second dike, we suddenly felt extatic. We ran and half-crawled up, fighting the strong wind. We had hoped to see the sea, but saw nothing but emptiness. And it wasn't a disappointment, not at all. We laughed loud, shouted, spread our arms, let ourselves float in the wind. And then we ran, not to the sea, but to the darkening emptiness of the end of the world. Down here it is suddenly pleasantly quiet, just the faint laughter of our friends above us. We sit, lay down, and I'm happy."

One of the happiest moments of my life. Also a pleasant note: I passed the first module, we all did.

After walking around the garden, I didn't think it could become any better, but it did. We were let loose in the house with the freedom to touch everything, open every door, read every book, do whatever we wanted. The endless amount of rooms were all filled with books, art and a million interesting things. At first I was too impatient, ran from room to room, because I wanted to see everything at once. Walking through the house, you'd bump into people on the stairs or in the hallways, unaware of one another because we were too mesmorized by the beauty of the place. But the walk to the house had been long and the overwhelming amount of information had to be processed. The rooms filled themselves with sun and slowly we all started to let ourselves sink on soft couches and beds, listening to music, reading or writing. It was almost strange to feel so at home in a house that I'd only entered a few hours ago.

More pictures of the garden. They designed everything themselves and there are many different eras in the garden. It was huge and you probably will always find something new when you are there. There were little secrets hiding everywhere, things you wouldn't expect. Like kissing heads, or a small bridge over the water, or a bench made out of plants. I walked around with my mouth open, muttering oohs and aahs every few minutes.

In Berlin we spent a lot of time going through suitcases with old pictures, untill our fingers were so frozen that we had to stop. At times I wondered if every single German was at least a little bit transsexual.

this is a real starfish. happy 2012 to all of you :).
And then you say something about the past year. I guess it has not been the best year, but there were some wonderful moments of course. I visited an insane amount of beautiful places, of which I'm very grateful. And I had a lot of wonderful adventures with friends and my hair has grown. And I saw a real starfish.
I spend last night in Amsterdam and I didn't get killed by a bomb, so that's also very positive.
Next year I'm visiting London and Frome which I'm super excited about, and hopefully I'll also go to Sweden and Germany and some other place, something I haven't seen before, like Iceland or Russia or some small town here in the Netherlands where I'll meet fascinating people. We will see. I have some other big plans for the new year, which I won't tell because then they can go wrong, but maybe, hopefully they will come true.

Once, last year, we had to make a comic. Even though It took me way too much time, I was quite happy with the result. Shortly after, in a village in Australia called Nihill we found a beautiful deserted trainstation where trains would only come every other day (and only 1 every day), and it looked so much like I'd imagine the station of my drawing. My father took a picture of me.

I talked about the sea before, but this little beach, and this part of the ocean was by far my favourite of all the seas and beaches I've seen in my life. I will tell you how we met.
It was a bit of a windy day, not raining like the days before, but not quite calm yet, we had arrived late at the campside that day, so the sun would set soon. We had to walk fast. There was a small 'inland sea' that we had to walk by to get to the end. We passed empty beach houses and abondened fisher boats. As we got closer, the sea, even in between land, became wilder, it was making strange turns and twists as if a large animal was hiding under it. A few men were fishing, their wives sat behind them, eating sandwiches and yelling at the kids who were running around. At the end of the beach was a small stairs to the rocks. When we jumped we could just reach it, the sea was coming closer, soon you wouldn't be able to use the stairs at all.
There was a lookout, but also a small beach, not much bigger than an average living room. The rocks were shaped as if they were made for us, viewers. I settled down between them, let them protect me from the strong wind. And I just watched. Again and again waves came rolling to the shore, surrounded by watersmoke, just to crash down and flood the beach up to a few steps away from my hiding place. Seven small waves and one big one. During the small waves, little crabs came out of the sand to watch the sea as well.
I somehow wanted to capture the moment forever and took many pictures, but after a while I realized that I would just remember it anyway so I stopped and just enjoyed.

As of today I'm starting a project for myself, valuable nothing. The art of doing nothing and not feeling guilty about it, treating it as if it is the most important thing you can ever do.

Like many of the places we visited in Australia, this was also just a one-night stay. So the next morning I went back to enjoy it one final time, thinking I could stay there forever, and just thinking about it makes me completely happy again.

My parents gave us a name for ourselves and a name from the arts. My name is Bobby Lilith and they named me after Lilith Am Roten Meer by Anselm Kiefer. I've seen it before in real life, but was too young to understand it. In the last years I've taken a lot of pride in my name, so I guess you can imagine my delight when I turned the corner in Hamburger Bahnhof, and suddenly saw it there. I'd seen it on pictures, but it's always so much more impressive in real life, like all Kiefer's work.
I am very proud to have this piece with me forever, because it's incredibly beautiful.

Our plane landed around midnight. We had a lot of stress of getting the bus to the centre in time. At 2 in the morning, we walked through Stockholm's cold streets to reach our Hostel. When we finally arrived, tired from all the travelling, we were pleasently surprised to discover the cutest of rooms. So instead of sleeping, we arranged our clothes in a nice composition and took million of photos.

I had walked through an almost empty city on my own for hours when I saw a small black cat leading into an alleyway, and in between high, fancy glass building, I found this small and messy place, next to a building that only had his outer walls left. I am completely drained from sitting in church all day and walking around an empty and depressing town on this sunny sunday. I wonder how other people do this every sunday, because I just found this very scary and sad. And everything and everyone made me feel like I was worth nothing and basically this is what has happened all week when I talk to these people. I don't like it one bit.
They keep saying: "What are you doing here? What is your purpose? You are living a useless life. You will go to hell." I don't get it. So this afternoon I just told the man next to me that I believe in God very much so and I sang the songs and put money in the bags and nodded in agreement when they talked about those terrible non-believers.

I remember as a kid being incredibly scared of the sea. My dad went out to stand on one of the rocks to show me it was all alright, but I stayed as far away as possible with my eyes and ears closed.

This summer the fear was back, but unlike all those years ago, now I couldn't stop looking at the sea. At her amazing power, the way she could become meters high, flood over rocks as high as buildings and her sound filling up all the air around you. It made my heart race both with fear and excitement.

It's impossible for me to catch this feeling in pictures, so you'll have to trust me on my word.

The next half year, will be themed with 'religion', I am beyond excited about this. It's going to be amazing. I'm so happy I'm in this department, and here, in general. More and more these days (now that we're getting older and getting used here) I feel so privileged to be surrounded by amazing and inspiring people, just making beautiful and great things and having long and endless talks about our current positions as designers / artists, about print being dead or not, about inspiration, about 'trends' and how things are changing.

That may sound stupid, but I was just sitting in class today with all these amazing people and I felt so happy. Then we got tons of long presentations and now I'm mainly hungry and tired, but still. I'm happy. And excited! and who knows, maybe after some time on this project, I'll be religious as well.

Shell beach is 10 meter deep and all shells. It's beautiful, not so comfortable, but beautiful. The button shows a naked men repairing something at the telegraph station, the story goes he is naked because he had to swim to get there and didn't want to make his clothes wet, but the big question is: why is he wearing boots? He probably just likes to be naked.

Yesterday I thought it was smart to run up and down Perth's Jacob's Ladder (241 steps or so) two times even though my usual workout limits to 7 minutes cycling to school. You can imagine my legs hurt a bit, 30 hours of airplane travelling didn't exactly help, so I devoted today to lying in my bed.

Taking the train through dutch landscape made me miss Australia already. It's ugly here.

Healesville seemed empty but they had a lovely brewery where we drank yummy cider / beer / coffee and where the people were nice and gave me a pretty map to make a book from. And if I would ever consider washing my clothes somewhere other than home, it would be in Australia.

So much talking. I might as well say I have 5 rolls of films to develop (1 for every week. I'm quite proud) so you can expect tons of pictures of my brother and the sea.

We've spent a lot of time on several beaches and now we're in Perth in a terribly big hotel room for our last night in Australia, then we'll have a 5 hour, 12 hour and 1 hour planeride to go until we're back home. Exciting!

On another note, I've been killing all my favourite totebags this holiday, I had to stitch them all a few times, but it's alright, they're getting used well and they like carrying my camera, sunscreen and shoes.

Today we did a coral-tour and saw Yves Klein - blue fishies. Did you know there are certains kinds of fish that are all female with one man and then when the man dies, all the females turn male and fight who is the strongest, he stays male and the rest of them turns female again. Crazy little things.

We have to get back in a week. Just now that I'm getting used to this bloody heat.

But I'm incredibly excited to see everyone again and go to school <3

We named him Charles, he was quite sad.

There are so many amazing animals here and we already saw a lot of kangaroos. Today we lost all our food because they took it when we crossed the border to South Australia, my dad told the guy that if we'd do such things in Europe, there would definitely be war. He just said: "That's why you have mad-cow disease."

We have come to a point where we just see endless endless nothingness and it can be quite depressing at times. I don't think I would like to live here. 200 km between villages and they both consist of 10 people. in between there really is nothing at all, just one road.

It's very warm though! So this is good.

Summer - package exchange with Lotta. She gave me wonderfulness (second picture) that made me extremely happy. One (three) of the things were these beautiful camel (kameel) maps (shitty webcam picture doesnt do them justice) that I've been in love with since I first saw them in our art supplies store but never bought them. tack tack tack <3.

I'm having a cold and am hiding in the hallway of this beautiful house because we have internet here and I'm getting tired of being with my parents and brother 24/7. After tomorrow we'll be touring through the desert for 3 weeks. whoop.

"Why do I keep hearing this sniffing sound?"

It's like Sweden here. In Melbourne it's full of cool people like in Sweden and I already said it smelled like Sweden there. Then we found these cute little Swedish-looking houses and today we had a 'family-party' and there was yummy yummy Swedish cider and I drank pretty much all of it.

Leisure Festival.

I'm going to be a Leisure-student! I'm so so so happy. For weeks all I've been thinking about is going to Leisure and now I finally know that I can. whoop whoop. Next year is going to be amazing.

We're now in Australia, close to Melbourne and it's winter so really cold, but beautiful here and we're staying with family who all are incredibly nice.

Hong Kong is quite an insane place, but I like it here. the buildings are incredibly high and they have escalators in the city. It's hot and for the first time in years I walked around barelegged. Now we're in a tiny hotel room and I'm listening to Sufjan Stevens and reading about art. Tomorrow we're going to Australia. I hope they have movies on the plane as well. That was exciting. meow. (I saw a cat today. It was the only animal I saw, besides a dead babybird on the street).

This week has been filled with amazing food and a lot of it. Lots of cake, pancakes and healthy delicious dinners.

I made a lot of small packages today with see-through envelopes filled with little treasures. I like doing this.

Tomorrow we're going away for five weeks. We'll go to Hong Kong first and then to Melbourne and then travel the westcoast of Australia. I am beyond excited!

Also: If you know good summer songs or mixes, please do let me know, all my music is still in winter and I want some nice new music.
